Cowboys Hand Eagles Fifth Straight Loss

The Cowboys’ 38-21 win over Philadelphia ended a three-game losing streak and offered a chance to build momentum, with their increased emphasis on the run game helping Dallas control the matchup. The team still needs more consistent defensive play: rookie Caleb Downs has been productive as a tackler but must reduce missed tackles and make more plays on the ball, while the defense as a whole needs to generate takeaways. DaRon Bland has adjusted to a changed role with Joey Porter Jr. taking the top-cornerback assignment, and his play has improved in recent weeks. Dallas now faces Arizona, with its offensive line and run game among the strengths it hopes to carry forward.
