Columbus Crew win 3-0, keep playoff hopes alive with one game left
Columbus Crew beat D.C. United 3-0 on Saturday, extending their surge in the MLS playoff race. Sean Zawadzki headed in a Dylan Chambost free kick in the 16th minute, and Anass Zaroury doubled the lead before halftime, with Chambost assisting both goals; an own goal by D.C.’s Kimito Nono completed the scoring in the 60th. Goalkeeper Patrick Schulte made four saves for his ninth clean sheet of the season. The Crew have won seven of their last eight matches and moved into eighth place in the Eastern Conference with one regular-season match remaining. They can secure a playoff berth depending on other results Sunday; D.C. United had already been eliminated.
