Cross-country, volleyball seasons end at postseason meets

East Surry’s volleyball season ended in a five-set Elite Eight loss to Trinity, which won the decisive set 15-12 after the Cardinals rallied to within two points. In cross country, Deerfield/Cambridge finished eighth in the boys’ race and 11th in the girls’ race at the Division 2 Monroe sectional, while Sun Prairie East’s boys and girls both placed 12th at their WIAA sectionals. Waterloo’s girls placed 14th at their Division 3 sectional, and its boys lacked enough runners to score as a team. The 2026 St. Croix Interscholastic Cross Country Championships drew 151 athletes across four divisions and crowned individual and team champions, with Good Hope Country Day taking second in the Elementary Girls team standings on a tiebreaker.
