Crumbl reportedly closes 57 stores nationwide
Crumbl Cookies has closed at least 57 locations nationwide in 2026, with at least 55 franchises reportedly listed for sale and more stores potentially at risk. The closures come amid steep sales declines: reports say unit volumes fell about 16%, and sales in August were 70% below two months earlier. The chain’s new dirty-soda offerings have not reversed the downturn, while franchisees face broader pressure as consumers pull back on discretionary purchases such as premium-priced cookies. The impact varies by region: six Southwest Florida stores remain open, while Crumbl no longer has locations in San Luis Obispo County, leaving Santa Maria as the only listed Central Coast location. Despite the retrenchment, the company says it still has more than 1,000 locations and 29,000 employees.
