Dale Brown Named 2027 Wooden Coaching Honoree

Dale Brown, LSU’s winningest men’s basketball coach, has been named the 2027 recipient of the John R. Wooden Legends of Coaching Award. Brown led LSU from 1972 to 1997, compiling 448 victories, reaching two Final Fours and winning four SEC regular-season titles. The award recognizes coaching achievement, leadership, character and impact on student-athletes; Shaquille O’Neal, who played for Brown at LSU, announced the honor in a video tribute. Brown is scheduled to receive the award at a ceremony in Los Angeles in April 2027.
