DataVault plans 3MW Auckland data center

New Zealand colocation provider DataVault plans to build a 3-megawatt data center on Auckland’s North Shore, with fit-out expected to begin in 2027 and the first phase targeted to open in the second half of that year. The project is part of a broader plan to add about 6MW of capacity across Auckland, Hamilton and Wellington, alongside expansions at its existing Auckland site. Separately, Pacific Mobile Structures says modular construction can help data center operators bring capacity and supporting facilities online faster by building components off-site while site preparation proceeds. The company promotes both temporary and permanent modular buildings for functions such as operations, security, maintenance and workforce support, arguing they can offer flexibility and long-term durability.
