Grand Rapids classic-rock station 97 LAV has added Detroit-based Dave & Chuck the Freak to its morning lineup, airing weekdays from 6 to 10:30 a.m. The show, hosted by Dave Hunter and Chuck the Freak with Lisa Way, Ryan Logan, Jason Watson and Al Beck, replaces the previous morning program; former morning host Travis Gibbs has moved to afternoons. The hosts describe their approach as irreverent and deliberately unfiltered, aiming to find humor in just about anything. A recent segment’s meandering path from a news story about a police-dog attack to onion rings, butterflies and rock songs reflects the show’s freewheeling style.
