Daycare Workers Face Dozens of Child Abuse Charges

Former Michigan daycare worker Austin Hapner faces more than 60 charges across Kent and Ottawa counties, including allegations of sexually abusing children and producing or possessing child sexual abuse material; at least 15 Kent County children have been identified as alleged victims. He is being held without bond, and his Kent County cases are headed to trial. In a separate case in Pittsboro, North Carolina, childcare worker Violetta Wolovich has been charged with 18 misdemeanor counts of child abuse involving at least two children at Amazing Explorers Academy. She is in custody and has been ordered to have no contact with the children, their families, the daycare, or minors.
