Brantley Conner, a 14-year-old boy, died from injuries suffered when he was struck by a Dayton ISD school bus near U.S. Highway 90 and Stilson Road on Oct. 16. Police say the driver, 70-year-old Ricky Eugene Cherry, left the scene without stopping to help; he was arrested hours later and charged in connection with the crash. Conner’s family announced his death in an online update, after he received intensive medical care.
