Deer Leaps Through Appleton Apartment Window, Escapes

A deer that got into an Appleton, Wisconsin, apartment escaped by crashing through a window as police officers checked outside, an incident captured on an officer’s body camera. The animal appeared unharmed and ran toward nearby woods; officers said it had entered while no one was home. Police used the unusual encounter to warn that deer are more active during the fall breeding season, when Wisconsin sees more deer-vehicle collisions, and urged drivers to stay alert.
