Delta CEO Vows Fight Over Planned Heathrow Split
Delta CEO Ed Bastian is challenging Heathrow Airport’s plan to move Delta from Terminal 3 to Terminal 4 in 2028, separating it from joint-venture partner Virgin Atlantic, which will remain in Terminal 3. Bastian says the change would undermine the airlines’ shared investment in convenient connections, premium amenities and a combined global network; Virgin Atlantic has also criticized the plan and is weighing its options. Heathrow says its terminal reshuffle, developed after consultation with airlines, is intended to ease congestion, improve operations and make better use of space, while aligning terminals more closely with airline alliances. Delta says it will pursue available remedies to contest the decision. The broader changes also include moves by Finnair, Japan Airlines, LATAM and China Southern.
