Dementia-Friendly Choir Unites 30-Plus People in Sheboygan
Choirs are bringing people together in varied ways, from young women lending their voices to a song celebrating new age-group names to Rider’s Westminster Chapel Choir using its repertoire to highlight unity and alumni composers. A dementia-friendly choir in Sheboygan offers people with dementia, caregivers and others affected by the condition a welcoming place to connect, with its director describing music as a way to engage people experiencing memory loss. BYU’s Women’s Chorus has also announced a concert centered on creation, hope and the message that every person matters. Meanwhile, a community women’s choir in Belleville invites singers of all experience levels to join without auditions or music-reading requirements.
