Developers Withdraw Lake Norman 450-Home Plans
Developers have permanently withdrawn plans for roughly 450 apartments and townhomes along congested N.C. 150 in Mooresville, North Carolina, after the town’s Planning Board recommended rejecting both projects and commissioners appeared likely to oppose them. The proposals included 261 apartments and commercial space from Georgia-based Davis Development, and 190 townhomes from Florida-based Marquis Homes. Planning officials and neighbors raised concerns about traffic and development density along the already-bottlenecked highway, which is undergoing a widening project expected to be completed by 2030.
