DIRECTV Adds Channels for Four NHL Teams

DIRECTV has signed a multiyear deal with the NHL to carry regional channels for the Carolina Hurricanes, Columbus Blue Jackets, Minnesota Wild and St. Louis Blues, featuring live games and pregame and postgame programming. The channels are available to satellite and streaming customers in each team’s designated home territory with Choice or higher, and to local U-verse customers with U200 or higher. The deal also extends to DIRECTV FOR BUSINESS venues in those territories, including sports bars and restaurants. DIRECTV said the agreement adds to its local and regional rights for 76 of 81 U.S.-based NHL, NBA and MLB teams.
