Dogs Join Voters at US Midterm Polls

Dogs accompanied voters at polling places across the United States during the midterm elections, with photos showing pets alongside voters in several states. In San Diego’s Rancho Peñasquitos neighborhood, the Helen Woodward Animal Center’s “Paws to the Polls” brought adoptable puppies Alspice and Aspen to a polling site, where voters could stop for cuddles. Organizers said the effort aimed to brighten Election Day, ease voter anxiety and connect the puppies with potential adopters.
