Donalds Prioritizes Affordability in Florida Governor Race
On Election Day, Florida Republican gubernatorial candidate Byron Donalds voted with his family and said affordability—especially homeowners’ insurance and construction costs—would be a top priority if elected. He also pledged to pursue insurance reforms, speed up building permits, make permitting automatic after storms, and support rural fire departments and mental health services. In Georgia, Democratic candidate Keisha Lance Bottoms proposed allowing local governments to suspend grocery taxes and raising starting teacher pay, while Republican Rick Jackson emphasized tax relief, health care costs, jobs and rebuilding agricultural processing and storage facilities. South Carolina’s four gubernatorial candidates made the case for their leadership qualifications, citing experience in government, the military, public service and hands-on professions.
