Ducks to retire captain Ryan Getzlaf's No. 15 on Jan. 30

The Anaheim Ducks will retire No. 15 in honor of franchise icon Ryan Getzlaf, with a ceremony set for January 30 before a game against the Nashville Predators. Getzlaf, who spent his entire 17-year career in Anaheim and retired in 2022, is the Ducks’ all-time leader in games, goals, assists and points, and captained the team for its longest tenure. He helped Anaheim win the 2007 Stanley Cup and earned Olympic gold for Canada in 2010 and 2014. The retirement will mark him as the fourth Ducks player to have his number retired, joining Teemu Selanne, Paul Kariya and Scott Niedermayer, and is described by team owners Henry and Susan Samueli as recognizing his leadership, championship DNA and community contributions. Getzlaf expressed gratitude to the Ducks organization, teammates, coaches and fans for the honor. The celebration coincides with legacy nights that reflect the franchise’s 2007 championship run and Getzlaf’s enduring impact on the team and its history.
