The Anaheim Ducks recalled 20-year-old forward prospect Roger McQueen from their AHL affiliate, the San Diego Gulls, and placed center Ryan Poehling on injured reserve with a lower-body injury. McQueen has opened the season with three goals in four games for San Diego and previously scored 27 points in 36 games at Providence College, earning Hockey East Rookie of the Year honors. Drafted 10th overall in 2025, he could make his NHL debut against Calgary as Anaheim addresses injuries among its forwards.

Bringing up McQueen is the right move with Poehling on IR. The team needs fresh options at forward right now.

Poehling's lower body injury hurts the center depth. Hope it's not too serious and he returns soon.
