Durham Officer Faces Seven Child Exploitation Charges
Tre-Jamal Hamad, a 31-year-old Durham Regional Police constable from Ajax, was arrested after an Ontario Provincial Police investigation into the alleged sexual exploitation of a young person. He faces multiple Criminal Code charges involving child sexual abuse and exploitation material, making sexually explicit material available to minors, luring minors online and indecent exposure. Durham police say Hamad has been suspended without pay pending court proceedings. He was held for a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear in court; a publication ban limits further details. The allegations have not been tested in court, and police are asking anyone with relevant information to come forward.
