Dutch AI System Links Ukraine’s Drone Defenses

Dutch software company Intelic is deploying its Nexus system in Ukraine to connect otherwise incompatible drones, radars, sensors and cameras through a single command interface. In a late-September test in the Netherlands, Nexus combined sensor data, used a reconnaissance drone’s image recognition to verify a mock hostile target, and guided an interceptor drone to bring it down. A human operator approved the launch during the demonstration, though Intelic says the process could become more autonomous; the system is intended to help commanders respond when fast-moving threats leave little time to act. Intelic has a €30 million contract with the Dutch Defence Ministry to upgrade air defenses and has opened an office in Kyiv.
