Early voting expands across Michigan, Wisconsin
An early voting center opened Oct. 19 in WKAR Studio A at Michigan State University, operated through a partnership among WKAR, MSU and the East Lansing City Clerk’s Office. Registered East Lansing voters can vote there regardless of their regular precinct, get registration assistance and return or tabulate absentee ballots. The WKAR site is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Nov. 1, with adjusted hours Nov. 2 and Election Day voting hours on Nov. 3. East Lansing voters also have a second early voting location at the Hannah Community Center, while WKAR offers five more days of early voting than that site. Nearly 4,000 people voted at WKAR during the 2024 election, and local officials expect strong turnout again.
