Eau Claire Police Mourn Therapy Dog Murphy After Cancer Battle

The Eau Claire Police Department is mourning Murphy, its therapy K-9, who died after a brief battle with cancer. The Labradoodle joined the department in June 2022 and spent four years offering comfort to officers and community members, often through a gentle nuzzle or simply sitting beside someone in a difficult moment. Police said his warmth and companionship helped strengthen the department’s ties with the community.
