Edinburgh Zoo Red Panda Bruce Has Tooth Removed, Returns Healthy

Keepers at Edinburgh Zoo noticed that 11-year-old red panda Bruce had stopped eating, and veterinarians found a sore tooth during a checkup under general anesthesia. They removed the tooth, completed a full health examination and sent Bruce back to his habitat in good health; he has resumed searching for bamboo and resting in the trees. Bruce is the zoo’s only red panda, while his granddaughter Priya lives at Highland Wildlife Park as part of conservation efforts for the endangered species.
