El Paso GOP Chair Plans Suit Over Cohen Film

Michael Aboud, chair of the El Paso County Republican Party, says he plans to sue Sacha Baron Cohen, alleging he was tricked into appearing in the satirical film *Ali G: Who Iz I?* after believing he was attending a documentary discussion about immigration and the U.S.-Mexico border. In the film, Cohen appears as fictional counterterrorism expert Col. Erran Morad and leads Aboud and other participants through bizarre self-defense exercises before involving them in a staged mission concerning a fictional drug lord’s baby. Aboud has condemned Cohen and the production team, while the film presents the participants as unaware of the prank; the movie is scheduled for theatrical release October 23.
