El Paso Police Probe Reported KKK Regalia
El Paso police are reviewing social media images and reports of people wearing Ku Klux Klan robes at an apparent Halloween gathering to determine whether laws, including those against disorderly conduct, were broken. The images, reportedly showing about six people and allegedly teenagers, prompted condemnation from the local NAACP, elected officials and community groups, who said the regalia trivializes the KKK’s history of white supremacy, racial terror and violence. The NAACP called on city leaders to denounce the incident, while police said they are monitoring the situation and will take any appropriate action under the law.
