Election Access Remains Uneven for Disabled Voters
A blind North Carolina voter says reaching the polls can be challenging, but he continues to vote and hopes his example encourages others to make their voices heard. Disability advocates in Colorado remind voters that polling places and ballot boxes should be accessible, and that voters with disabilities may request assistance from poll workers, take additional time, or vote without family or caregivers present if they prefer. Advocates emphasize that assistance should respect each voter’s intent and independence.
