Empty Bowls Fundraisers Span Communities, Aid Hunger Relief
Empty Bowls, an international grassroots effort pairing community meals with handcrafted pottery to fight hunger, is prompting fundraisers in several communities. In Ogden, the annual event moves to The Monarch on Nov. 6, with proceeds going to Weber State’s Weber Cares Food Pantry; the evening will coincide with the First Friday Art Stroll and include food and live music. Northland Pioneer College will hold its Nov. 6 fundraiser in Show Low, directing proceeds to the local RE:center, while Savannah’s Nov. 1 event will benefit Union Mission’s Emmaus House Resource Center and include soup, a bowl, live music and an optional center tour. In Hong Kong, tickets for the 2026 dinner cost $180, with all proceeds going to Food Angel and matched by Yellow Pear Co. A recent event hosted by the Sisters of the Order of Saint Benedict in Minnesota drew more than 330 attendees and raised $6,801.50 for the St. Joseph Community Food Shelf, with leftover food also used to feed people at a temporary shelter.
