Jay-Z Celebrates 30-Year Career With Fugees Reunion
Jay-Z launched the London leg of his Jay-Z30 anniversary concerts at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with a career-spanning set marking three decades since his debut. The show featured a mini-Fugees reunion, with Lauryn Hill and Wyclef Jean performing “Ready or Not” and reportedly “Killing Me Softly” and “Fu-Gee-La.” Idris Elba delivered the spoken-word introduction from American Gangster, while South London rapper Giggs and DJ Khaled also appeared. Jay-Z performed hits including “Hard Knock Life,” “Empire State of Mind,” “Run This Town,” “Dead Presidents” and “No Church in the Wild,” and acknowledged his wife Beyoncé’s birthday during the concert. The performance was his first solo headline show in the U.K. in more than a decade, with another London concert scheduled the following night and additional shows planned in Paris and Los Angeles.
