Noah Wyle Wins Second Emmy for The Pitt

Noah Wyle won Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series at the 78th Emmy Awards on Monday, Sept. 14, 2026, for portraying Dr. Michael "Robby" Robinavitch in HBO Max's The Pitt. It was his second consecutive win after the 2025 award for the show's first season. He topped Sterling K. Brown (Paradise), Gary Oldman (Slow Horses), Mark Ruffalo (Task) and Rufus Sewell (The Diplomat). The Pitt led with a record 25 Emmy nominations. Wyle teared up on stage and called the moment overwhelming. He praised fellow nominees, told Gary Oldman that Sid and Nancy was the benchmark actors his age wanted to hit, and thanked The Pitt cast and crew, who planned to return to work the next day. He said he grew up in L.A. as a Hollywood kid for whom this was the only club he ever wanted to join. At last year's ceremony he also won Outstanding Drama Series as executive producer and thanked healthcare workers on shift. The Pitt won Creative Arts awards for casting, prosthetic makeup and original music and lyrics, and Ernest Harden Jr. won Outstanding Guest Actor. The series returns for Season 3 in January 2027.
