Paris Court Awards Kardashian €1 for 2016 Heist

A Paris court awarded Kim Kardashian €1 ($1.15) in damages on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2026 for the October 2, 2016 armed robbery at the Hotel de Pourtales during Paris Fashion Week. Robbers known as the Grandpa Robbers wore ski masks, posed as police, and tied her up at gunpoint. They stole jewelry that included a $4 million engagement ring from then-husband Kanye West, now Ye. Most of the jewelry was never recovered. The robbery stood as France's largest in 20 years when it occurred. Kardashian had sought the symbolic €1 amount. The court also awarded the hotel receptionist about €110,000; he had sought €500,000 to €550,000. Eight people were convicted in May 2025. Aomar Ait Khedache, the mastermind then aged 69, received a three-year sentence. Kardashian told him in 2025 she forgave him but forgiveness did not remove the trauma. She called it the most terrifying experience of my life and testified she thought she was going to die. Lawyer Mohand Ouidja welcomed the receptionist award as a victory, one outlet reported.
