The Traitors Wins Third Emmy as Celebrity Spinoff Set

Peacock’s The Traitors won Outstanding Reality Competition Program at the 2026 Emmy Awards for the third consecutive year, defeating Dancing with the Stars, RuPaul’s Drag Race, Survivor and Top Chef. The victory gave the series seven Emmys this year and 15 overall from 17 nominations, setting a single-year record for a competition program by surpassing RuPaul’s Drag Race’s six wins in 2020. Host Alan Cumming also won his third consecutive Emmy for reality competition hosting and used his acceptance speech to praise the show’s diverse audience, thank supporters including his dog Lala, and encourage Americans to register and vote. The BBC’s Celebrity Traitors will premiere on October 1 with an extra-long opening episode, followed by twice-weekly episodes filmed in the Scottish Highlands, with contestants competing for up to £100,000 for charity. The BBC will also air the special Traitor or Faithful? Claudia Decides and bring back The Celebrity Traitors: Uncloaked across BBC One, BBC iPlayer and BBC Sounds; the first series’ finale drew a peak audience of 15.4 million.
