Carrot Top Reportedly Hospitalized in Las Vegas After Suicide Attempt

Carrot Top, 61, whose real name is Scott Christopher Thompson, was hospitalized in Las Vegas on Friday after TMZ reported an alleged suicide attempt hours before his show. He was taken to a nearby hospital. Jami Schlicher told TMZ that Mr. Thompson is recovering in the hospital and is receiving the care and support he needs, and that his family and those closest to him are deeply grateful for the concern, prayers and respectfully ask for privacy. She did not confirm the reason. Friday and Saturday Luxor shows were canceled; as of Friday night Monday remained on sale. Thompson has headlined the Atrium Showroom since November 2005, Monday through Saturday at 8 p.m. He was seen about 2 p.m. Friday at Finney's Crafthouse in Downtown Summerlin with two companions. His Thursday post promoted the Friday show with a 2018 photo captioned Just your average Thursday commute to the Luxor. TBT. Brian Evans sued him in Florida federal court in July over a 2024 settlement; the case was dismissed without prejudice August 6 after a judge rejected emergency injunctive relief, and the dispute continues in Broward County state court.
