Taylor Swift Announces September 25 Release for New Single Patient Zero

Taylor Swift announced that her new single, “Patient Zero,” will be released on Sept. 25, describing it as a track she had been “impatiently” waiting to share. The announcement followed a website countdown and fan-discovered clues, including zeros replacing the letter “o” in her social-media bio and other promotional material. Swift is offering standard, acoustic and piano CD editions through her website during a 24-hour preorder period. The song is her second single of 2026 and follows her “Toy Story 5” soundtrack contribution, as well as her summer wedding to Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. Swift is scheduled to appear at the Sept. 27 MTV Video Music Awards, where she will receive the inaugural Artist Director Honors and has nine nominations; no accompanying full album has been confirmed.
