US Theaters Plan Halloween Shows Nationwide
Theater companies and arts venues across the country are leaning into Halloween with horror, comedy and family-friendly programming. Chicago’s fall lineup includes a folk-horror take on “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and a gothic musical, while Seattle’s offerings include a Halloween variety show alongside a broader mix of productions. Atlanta’s Center for Puppetry Arts is marking the 20th anniversary of “The Ghastly Dreadfuls,” presenting the family show “Spookhouse Annie” and extending an exhibit on stop-motion animation. In Virginia, the Lincoln Theatre’s October schedule features Edgar Allan Poe-themed performances, Halloween films and a battle of the bands. Dallas adds a family festival with dance, music, costumes, animals and activities led by local organizations.
