Chris Brown appears in London court for affray sentencing after club attack
Chris Brown was sentenced to eight months in prison, suspended for 12 months, after pleading guilty to affray over a February 2023 attack at Tape nightclub in London. Prosecutors said Brown struck music producer Abraham Diaw over the head with a glass tequila bottle and pursued him through the club; Brown’s vocal coach, Omololu Akinlolu, punched Diaw, who was also kicked while on the floor and later treated in hospital for head and knee injuries. Akinlolu was sentenced to four months in prison, suspended for 12 months. More serious charges against Brown, including assault and attempting to cause grievous bodily harm, were dropped after his guilty plea, and his lawyer told the court he had offered a profound apology to those affected.
