Selma Blair Apologizes After Flight Arrest
Selma Blair posted an Instagram apology video nearly three weeks after an Oct. 11 incident on a Delta flight from Los Angeles to New York. Port Authority police arrested her at JFK. She pleaded not guilty to two second-degree assault charges and returns Jan. 19, 2027. Deadline reported an $80,000 bond; DNYUZ reported $20,000 bail. In the video Blair said lawyers told her not to discuss that day, she never intended to hurt or frighten anyone, and she is so sorry to those she disappointed, hurt or alarmed. She said she is taking care of her health and her son. Her spokesperson said she had a medical emergency, there was no attempt to open the aircraft door, and she did not intend to harm anyone. Attorney Shawn Barnes said in court that extensive hours and exhaustive hours, coupled with altitude, resulted in severe confusion and disorientation. She is accused of assaulting two flight attendants, one sent to the hospital, and of kicking a Port Authority officer and a nurse. The door claim is disputed by her representatives. The FBI is investigating. The case is pending.
