Bethesda Reveals Elder Scrolls VI Title After Eight-Year Wait

Bethesda revealed that its next mainline Elder Scrolls game is titled The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel, the franchise’s first substantial update since the game was announced more than eight years ago. A brief teaser and a cryptic quote attributed to a Hammerfell Moth Priest in 4E 206 have renewed speculation that the game is set in Hammerfell and takes place five years after Skyrim, though Bethesda has not confirmed the setting or detailed the story. The announcement came during Bethesda’s 40th-anniversary celebration. The studio said development continues but provided no release date or gameplay footage; reports suggest the game is still more than two years away.
