Boil Advisories Lifted and Issued in Several Communities

Water utilities have issued or lifted boil-water advisories in several communities following water-main breaks, pressure losses and repairs. Veolia’s advisory remains in effect for specified streets in Susquehanna Township, Pennsylvania, after a main break on Linglestown Road; residents should use boiled or bottled water for drinking, cooking, ice, dishes and brushing teeth until notified. Columbus City Utilities issued a precautionary advisory for areas near Goeller Boulevard, Terrace Lake Road and Two Mile House Road, directing customers to boil water for three to five minutes while laboratory testing is pending. Advisories in Great Bend, Kansas; Modeste in Ascension Parish, Louisiana; and Cedar Rapids, Iowa, were lifted after repairs and satisfactory testing confirmed the water was safe to consume. Richmond County, Nova Scotia, also lifted its advisory and water-conservation directive, although some road closures remained. White Plains, Kentucky, issued an advisory for Highway 62 East and North Franklin Street after a leak caused a temporary water shutoff.
