Equinor, Eneco Sign Five-Year 9-TWh Annual Gas Deal

Equinor has signed a five-year agreement to supply Eneco with about 9 terawatt-hours of Norwegian natural gas annually for the Dutch market, with deliveries beginning October 1, 2026. Eneco says the gas’s lifecycle greenhouse-gas footprint is 11.8% below the 2025 average for gas supplied through the Dutch grid, mainly because Norwegian production and pipeline transport use less-emitting methods than liquefied natural gas shipments. The deal includes verified environmental attributes documenting the gas’s origin and upstream emissions, and the companies say the supply supports energy security. It is the third gas supply agreement Equinor and Eneco have signed this year.
