Eurozone Investor Confidence Hits Highest Since 2022
Investor morale in the euro zone rose for a fifth consecutive month in September, with the Sentix index climbing to 5.1 from 0.9 in August, its strongest reading since February 2022 and above expectations. Both assessments of current conditions and six-month economic expectations improved substantially, indicating that investor sentiment has shifted into optimistic territory. Germany was a major contributor to the advance, as its index rose sharply for a fourth straight month, suggesting Europe’s largest economy is no longer weighing on the broader recovery in confidence. The data point to improving growth expectations, though the survey remains an early sentiment gauge and does not outweigh harder indicators such as inflation, GDP, purchasing-manager surveys and European Central Bank guidance.
