EVgo opens first Chicago Supercharger, plans expansion
EVgo has opened its first Supercharger site near downtown Chicago, a 12-stall station at a grocery-anchored retail property. Its Magic Dock equipment lets vehicles using either NACS or CCS charge without a separate adapter, and the site appears in Tesla’s Trip Planner and in-car navigation. EVgo says the Chicago location is the first of hundreds of Supercharger stalls it plans to add at high-demand locations nationwide. Separately, the company plans to expand NACS connectors across its existing network, targeting 500 stalls by the end of 2026 and NACS connectors at all sites built in 2023 or later within two years.
