Examiner Reveals Causes of Three Burning Man Deaths
Nevada’s Washoe County medical examiner said three men who died at or after the 2026 Burning Man festival died from cardiovascular disease, drug toxicity, or a combination of both. Tshombe Sampson, 62, died of hypertensive and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease; his death was ruled natural. Armando Ramirez, 51, died from methamphetamine and MDMA toxicity, with cardiovascular disease, diabetes and chronic methamphetamine use also contributing; his death was ruled accidental. Craig Mann, 60, died from cocaine and methamphetamine toxicity, with cardiovascular disease contributing, and his death was also ruled accidental. Authorities said none of the deaths was suspicious; the Pershing County Sheriff’s Office is handling the related investigations.
