Experimental Prostate Drugs Show Early Responses

Several experimental prostate cancer treatments reported encouraging early results at ESMO 2026. Johnson & Johnson’s oral drug JNJ-6143, tested in heavily pretreated patients with advanced disease, produced PSA declines of at least 50% in 77% of patients at the 50-mg dose; 69% of evaluable patients had a confirmed complete or partial tumor response, and responses were also seen among patients with high-risk molecular features. Convergent Therapeutics’ two-dose radiopharmaceutical CONV01-α produced PSA declines of at least 50% in 84% of patients with Lu-PSMA-naïve, treatment-resistant disease, with manageable blood-related toxicity and no reported high-grade dry mouth or kidney or liver toxicity. Full-Life Technologies reported that its radiopharmaceutical FL-020 yielded PSA declines of at least 50% in 88.2% of 17 evaluable patients, with no dose-limiting toxicities or treatment-related deaths among 39 patients assessed for safety. The findings are preliminary, and further studies will be needed to establish the treatments’ effectiveness and risks; reported side effects included nausea and elevated cholesterol and triglycerides with JNJ-6143, while FL-020’s dry mouth was mostly mild.
