Idaho, Mississippi Universities Report Mostly Steady Fall 2026 Enrollment

Fall 2026 enrollment varied among the institutions covered: Idaho State University reported 13,533 students, down 2.7% from a year earlier but 10% above Fall 2021. The university cited fewer international students and a statewide decline in applications through Apply Idaho, while enrollment at its Idaho Falls campus increased. BYU-Idaho’s campus-based enrollment fell 1.4% to 24,111, remaining relatively steady despite 1,000 more students deferring enrollment to serve as missionaries; the university also reported 24,308 online students through BYU-Pathway Worldwide. Mississippi’s public university system was also nearly level, enrolling 81,771 students compared with 81,961 in Fall 2025.
