Fall Park Volunteer Events Span Multiple Communities

Communities in Edmonds, Washington, and Portland are marking Arbor Day with fall tree-focused events. In Edmonds, volunteers can plant native trees and shrubs at three parks on Oct. 24, with tools and training provided; registration is required. Portland’s Oct. 17 celebration at Harrison Park will include tree planting, arts and activities, and a giveaway of more than 200 trees. Both cities say fall planting takes advantage of wetter, cooler months to help trees establish before summer.
