Fall Weather Returns to Gulf Coast With Chilly Nights Ahead
A cold front is bringing a return to fall weather across the Gulf Coast and parts of Georgia, ending most showers and ushering in drier, less humid air. After Friday highs mostly in the 70s, weekend afternoons will generally reach the upper 60s to mid-70s under mostly sunny or partly cloudy skies. Nights will turn notably chilly, with lows commonly in the 40s and locally near or below freezing in colder inland and higher-elevation areas; patchy frost is possible in parts of Alabama and Georgia. The cooler, mostly dry pattern is expected to continue into early next week, though some forecasts point to increasing clouds or a chance of showers ahead of another front later in the week.
