Father says daughter showed composure before fatal Learjet crash

Allan Filgueiras, a pilot, said his daughter Nathalia’s final radio calls showed her composure as she tried to manage the Learjet 60’s emergency before it crashed in Florida, killing all nine people aboard. She reported ice buildup and an overspeed descent of 20,000 feet per minute while the aircraft encountered a thunderstorm and severe turbulence. Her father said he repeatedly listened to the recording searching for answers, but was left proud of her efforts. The family and its attorney also defended her qualifications as a co-pilot, citing her training and flight experience, and called for the investigation to establish what caused the crash.
