Fentanyl Traffickers Sentenced in Five U.S. Cities
Authorities reported prison sentences in several unrelated fentanyl-trafficking cases across the country. In Florida, Nicholas Sterling Chagnon received 30 years after pleading guilty to selling fentanyl that killed a customer minutes after the sale. Federal courts sentenced defendants in other cases to 18 months in North Carolina, seven years in Connecticut, and more than 16 years in Texas; the Texas case involved fentanyl-laced pills sold in Schertz and drugs advertised on social media. In Montana, Kylie Lynn Minardi was sentenced to five years and two months for fentanyl distribution and conspiracy, while the report also said a male co-defendant was sentenced but provided no details about his punishment.
