Gold Fluctuates Near $4,050 After Fed Holds Rates

Gold fluctuated around $4,040–$4,060 an ounce on Thursday after the Federal Reserve held interest rates steady in a divided 10-2 vote, offering limited guidance and leaving markets uncertain about the next policy move. A firmer U.S. dollar and expectations of potentially higher rates weighed on bullion, while investors awaited U.S. inflation data. Indian gold futures were mixed, with one contract rising on fresh positions and firm spot demand. Silver traded near $53.96; technical analysis put support at $53.10 and $52.54 and resistance at $54.46 and $54.66, with a break above resistance potentially improving its recovery outlook.
