US Futures Rise, Brent Crude Falls

U.S. stocks and futures rose Monday after a second consecutive losing week, as technology shares rebounded and oil prices eased from recent highs; Asian markets were mostly higher Tuesday, led by chip stocks in South Korea and Japan. Anthropic’s IPO filing renewed interest in AI companies while highlighting high computing costs and investor concerns about borrowing, spending and whether the investments will pay off; Meta’s plan to raise up to $95 billion for AI drew mixed reactions, while Nvidia and other chip stocks supported the market. Investors are watching earnings from Microsoft, Alphabet and Amazon and central-bank decisions, with the Federal Reserve widely expected to hold rates steady while leaving open the possibility of a later increase. Tensions involving Iran continued to affect oil prices and sentiment as President Donald Trump weighed a deal with Tehran or renewed attacks. Inflation and economic data, along with political uncertainty ahead of the U.S. midterm elections, also remained market risks.
